NCD lauds DMC’s initiative

Naga Council, Dimapur (NCD) has welcomed and appreciated the renovation of approach roads undertaken by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) through its toll tax collection at Murgipati, Dimapur.
In a press release, NCD president T.Bangerloba and treasurer Dietho Rhakho said diversion road (at Murgipati), which greatly helped ease chronic traffic problem in Dimapur, had been unattended for so many years.
Expressing satisfaction with the works, NCD affirmed it was committed to extend fullest support and co-operation to DMC.
NCD reminded that a joint meeting of Dimapur civil bodies November 21, 2014 had resolved that the issue of tax collection should be streamlined and fund generated would be utilised judiciously for meeting requirements of DMC salaries and surplus be used for developmental works.
At that meeting, it was also resolved that lessee system practised by urban development department should be abolished.
Meanwhile, NCD has congratulated Dimapur district administration and police led by DC and SP for the commendable job in arresting those perpetrators involved in January 5, 2015 IED blast at Eros Colony Dimapur, which was intended to disturb the Republic Day celebration at Dimapur. Stating that Dimapur has been “terrorised with such terror activities” in recent past by outsiders, NSD said it was assuring that the law enforcing agency was well prepared to keep check on such “terror and destructive motive”. NCD appealed to the competent authority to impose rigorous penalty upon those perpetrators.
