Reacting to the statement by DAN spokesperson and parliamentary secretary Yitachu, spokesperson of NPF (Noke-Kaito) Imkong L. Imchen has expressed appreciation of Yitachu, as “ my younger brother, for speaking the truth about my position” as reported in the February 2 issue of the newspaper.
Reacting to Yitachu’s statement, that he (Imchen) wanted to join the T.R.Zeliang group, Imchen confirmed that he had expressed his willingness to join the government (of T.R. Zeliang) “on the basis of reconciliation” but that T.R.Zeliang did not entertain his suggestions.
Further, Imchen said that T.R. Zeliang was also informed about “Mr. Kaito’s leadership long time ago and yet he has not considered it appropriate for reconciliation.” Imchen said that the “present leadership issue in the NPF party is not a sudden development, not a step taken like stabbing from the back” but that it was “a mutually open issue which was deliberated with T.R.Zeliang as chief minister of the state.”
Imchen asserted, “all said and done, the days of T.R.Zeliang’s chief ministership of the state is already over” and “Naga people will have a new chief minister, in the person of Shri. G.Kaito Aye sooner than later.” to serve the people with commitment, dedication and sincerity and provide a “stable and trustworthy relationship with the government of India.”
“In order to deliver goods to the people”, Imchen appealed to the people of Nagaland to “accept the leadership of Shri Kaito as a genuine Naga leader and he will be the man of the hour”.
