Konyak Union (KU) has vehemently condemned the “barbaric act” and the blank firing incidents by underground the factions at Oting village January 31 evening
In a press release, KU president S. Manlip Konyak and general secretary Y. Hosea Konyak pointed out that the “the incidents” were “pure violation of cease fire ground rules” and deserved to be condemned by all.
Konyak Union asserted that a peaceful environment was the need of the hour, at a time when people in Mon district were preparing for the upcoming NBCC Triennial Convention, scheduled to be held from February 4-8.
The Konyak Union appealed all the factions (NPGs) to “stop such attitude immediately”. It further cautioned that “no such barbaric act would be accepted in the public places/villages in the near future”.
Konyak Union also urged law enforcing agencies/security forces to strictly enforce the cease-fire ground rules so that no underground (faction) roam around with fire-arms and attack one another in the public domain.
