Dimapur police conducted raid of shops and stalls for selling of unauthorized activated SIM cards in and around Dimapur on January 31 and arrested 22 persons and also seized 420 numbers of activated SIM Cards of different service providers.
Under Sub-Urban Police Station, 24 number of activated SIM cards of different service providers were seized and arrested one person namely Miss. Asenla (19), daughter of Bendang of Asangma village in Changtongya (Mokokchung).
Under West Police Station, 175 number of activated SIM cards of different service providers were seized and arrested 6 persons namely Aloto Swu, son of Viyeto Swu of Sematsutsu village, Samlak Nrang, son of Lunglitui of Nrang village, Mughato Kiba, son of Ahoto Kiba and resident of Naga Cemetery Dimapur, Md. Ismail Ali, son of Sumaan Ali of Silchar and resident of Khermahal Nisatuo Colony, Dimapur, Denish Kumar, son of Subhir Singh of Moholoria and resident of Island Colony, Dimapur, and Azir Uddin, son of Aftaf Uddin of Karinganj and resident of Notun Basti, Dimapur.
Under East Police Station, a total of 160 number of SIM cards of different service providers, out of which 95 Nos. of SIM were found to be pre-activated, and arrested 2 persons namely Hupeto Chisho (25), son of Pukato Chiso of Lumchomi village, and Sanaton Chingam (19), son of Khambaton of Churachanpur village.
Under Diphupar Police Station, 61 number of activated SIM cards of different service providers were seized and arrested 9 persons namely Akali Chishi, daughter of Satoi Chishi of Litsami village, Seema Devi, wife of Raju of Darganbar village, Watila, daughter of Saden of Mongsenyimti village, Kheyi, daughter of Daikho of 5th Mile, Dimapur, Kezhalenuo, daughter of Mezeho of Chakhabama village, Nirmal Das, son of Pordima of 4th Mile, Dimapur, Manohar, son of Abdul Rehman of 7th Mile, Dimapur, Boto, son of Nagato of Sheena Old, and Sunita Devi, daughter of Choudur Singh of Moirang village, Manipur.
Cases in this connection have been registered and further investigation is on, ASP and PRO, Dimapur said in a press statement.
