Church felicitates ordained priests

Mary Help of Christian Cathedral Church has felicitated four newly ordained priests from different tribes in a solemn programme held on February 1 in Cathedral Church, Kohima.
Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou, Vicar General of the Diocese of Kohima, on behalf of the faithful, accorded the words of welcome to the newly ordained priests and also introduced their names and tribe to the congregation. He applauded them for the great challenge they have taken and cited that the Diocese of Kohima is privilege to have these four ordained Priests from the different tribes.
Rev. Fr. Charles Ongdok was the main celebrant and concelebrated by seven other priests.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou remarked, “They were astounded at His teaching” (Mk;1:22), adding that “the word of God has made an impression in us we shall impress the people of God with the Word of God. We are astounded at the teaching of Jesus we shall astonish the people with it.”
Miss Regina Razousinuo, president of Nagaland Catholic Movement, anchored the felicitation programme.
During the programme, Anthony Viphrezol Richa, Principal of Model Christian College, articulated the words of gratitude and wished the newly ordained priests, while a special song and a gift were also presented to them by the community.
The newly ordained priests presented a special song entitled, “Home of a soul.”
Rev. Fr. John Lichoi, a representative, has expressed gratitude to Rev. Frs. Carolus, Vicar General; Johnny, APP; George Rino, Sisters and the community of Cathedral parish for the august gathering to felicitate them. He further cited that ‘Your manifestation through the song and words is the sign of your love.’ He recommended the community to journey in their priestly life through prayers.
Rev. Fr. Carolus has blessed the newly elected leaders of Angami Catholic Union and women. Teisovi Gerard Meyase, former NCYM president, expressed his gratitude to the parishioners for hosting NCYM silver jubilee in the parish.
