Zunheboto Town Youth Organization (ZTYO) paid its second courtesy visit to the Sub-Jail Zunheboto in just a span of one week and gifted various sporting equipments- football, volleyball and nets etc, on January 31.
The visiting nine- member team of ZTYO executives was led by its president Dr. Awoto and other media personnel.
“Today’s visit was initiated subsequently after having an interaction with the inmates on its maiden visit on January 26 and having learned that there were no sports item(s) except one Carom Board,” stated ZTYO.
ZTYO vice president, Holuto Aye Shenunu, in his short exhortation, highlighted the inmates on importance of sports and fitness irrespective of religion, culture, physical boundaries or region.
He supported his statement by citing various examples and said, “Sports is the most important ambassador which brings people closer from the grassroots level upto state/ national or the international levels.”
Earlier, on the 66th Republic Day, ZTYO paid its maiden visit to the Sub-Jail Zunheboto and distributed various item such as toiletries and groceries etc.
The ZTYO also had a short interaction session where ZTYO spokesman Er. Mughalu Sumi said the invocation, while its president Dr. Awoto and the vice president Holuto Aye Shenunu delivered an introductory note and keynote address respectively.
In a separate note, ZTYO has convened its 1st general assembly/meeting and informed all the executive members, ZTYO advisors, sub-unit presidents and general secretaries and all concerned members to attend the meeting without fail. The meeting would be held in Sumi Hoho-Ki (Hall), Old Town, Zunheboto on February 3 at 11 a.m.
