Imkong L.Imchen spokesperson of NPF(Noke) reacted to the statements of “ex-president Dr.Shürhozelie and the Chief Minister’s Office” by terming them as “unfortunate and despicable” for having dragged the names of “all top leaders of the country, including the honourable prime minister” which he said, were “but their last desperate attempt to keep their camp together”.
Imchen cited the January 31 report in a national newspaper wherein he ruled out any compromise with “members led by Noke and Kaito”.
However, Imchen said “our doors remain open to all our party men and women to come and join the majority” because “ all NPF members are members of our family and we will never close our doors on any of our family members”.
He said Dr.Shurhozelie and T.R.Zeliang “are dancing at the doorsteps of the BJP leaders in Delhi and Dimapur” but who he accused of being solely responsible for the disqualification of BJP MLAs. Imchen said both have “time and again sold off the image” of the Speaker by blaming the latter for the disqualification episode. He said even in the recent trip to Delhi, when BJP leaders asked them about the disqualification, both “again shifted the blame to the speaker”.
Imchen also reminded both that the “state’s machinery and legal adviser” were used against the BJP to uphold the disqualification even though BJP was “very much part of the state government.”
He also accused “ex-president Dr.Shurhozelie” for refusing to entertain the BJP in seat sharing during the assembly elections despite having a coalition with the party on the plea of having “so-called friendly contests in all seats where BJP had fielded candidates.”
Imchen said after boycotting the visits of prime minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Dr.Shurhozelie was “desperately running from door to door of the BJP leaders begging for support.” He accused both Dr.Shurhozelie “and the minority chief minister” of being fully responsible “for damaging the relationship between the BJP and the state government”.
Further, Imchen claimed that since Election Commission of India no longer recognised Dr.Shurhozelie as NPF president, “ he has become like a toothless tiger, which he once descrbied Dr.S.C.Jamir to be”. He said Dr.Shurhozelie was “resorting to false propaganda and spreading lies” since he has “become like a toothless” and whose words “no longer hold any water or truth”.
