NYK holds district youth convention in Zunheboto

Nehru Yuva Kendra, Zunheboto, has organised a district youth convention cum cultural programme on January 31 at Project Colony, Zunheboto, with SDEO Ghokiho Zhimo as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghokiho said youth are the tools for reformation in the individual lives as well as the society. While highlighting on various programmes being initiated by the government to assist the youth for their livelihood and for empowerment, he called upon the youth to avail the privilege by exploiting their own potentialities keeping a strong determination.
He also advised the youth to be God fearing in order to be successful in their work. The chief guest also cited examples of successful people in the world like Abraham Lincoln who attained achievement in long run despite facing many failures in his career. He further advised that “There is no substitute for hard work in order to be successful.”
John, DYC, NYK Zunheboto, while delivering a key note address, said Nehru Yuva Kendra is one of the largest organization in East Asia Pacific and the biggest youth movement in India presently having 623 district offices across the country. He said that district convention was organized keeping in focus that every individual student should become a good citizen by encouraging the youth in skill development apart from academic carrier. He further said NYK also encourages cultural values to instill what our forefathers practiced and to preserve our own identity.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Miss Shiholi, NYC, NYK, while special song was presented by Vitoka Hesso and the folk song by NYCS Zunheboto. The vote of thanks was delivered by Miss Avili, NYC, NYK, Zunheboto. The programme was chaired by Miss Vivi, NYC, NYK, Zunheboto.
