NPSC bids farewell to retiring officials

The 15th Chairman of Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), Kühüpoyo Puroh, and a member, Chipeni Merry, bade farewell to the commission during a farewell function held at NPSC office in honour of them who retired today on Saturday afternoon.
Puroh, in his address, expressed gratitude to the people of the State and the Commission for their cooperation during his term in the commission for 6 years (4 years as member and 2 years as chairman NPSC). He said if God’s willing even after retirement from this commission also he has a long way to go to be associated with them in the society.
Expressing his happiness and fond memories working with the Commission staff, he said it will be a treasured in his life time and also said though he would be out officially from the office but socially they will work together for the betterment of the society.
Puroh advised the staff to face the challenges with boldness and work together with understanding and maintain integrity and discipline to fulfill the inspiration of the younger Naga generations. He asked for forgiveness if he wronged them in any way in the course of discharging the office duty.
Chipeni Merry, in her address, said during her term in the Commission for 16 months was enjoyable and memorable and thanked chairman and staff for their cooperation. She urged the remaining staff to give their best service for the Commission.
Secretary NPSC Sarah R Ritse, vice president NPSC staff association Thejasalie Nuh, NPSC member A Yanang Konyak also address the gathering.
The programme was led by Kelhouseto Nakhro, deputy secretary, while the invocation prayer was proposed by Nungsanglemba Chang, member NPSC, presentation hour taken by Akala Jamir, Superintendent, and closing remarks was delivered by the leader.
Some achievements of the Commission under K Puroh as member and chairman included detection of swapping of answer scripts in the civil services exams (2009), opening of examination centre at Dimapur, Mokokchung, Mon and Tuensang in 2010, 2012 and 2013 respectively.
In 2012 common syllabus for both prelims and main examinations for the civil services, police service, NSS and allied services and combined educational service recruitment rules was introduced. In 2013 the Commission allowed degree final exam appeared students to sit for prelims exams and chairman NPSC elected as standing committee member of All India chairperson Public Service Commissions.
In 2014, introduced 100% submission online application forms, payment of fees and delivery of admit cards, introduced carbon copy of OMR answer sheets, installation of CCTV in the examinations halls of main exam.
