Mon District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) has conducted a one day orientation programme for para legal volunteers, NGO and concerned 22 village council members of Mon district under “Access to Justice (A2J)” on January 30.
Main resource person Mayanglima, Member Secretary NALSA, has highlighted the importance of opening of Legal Aid Clinic in Mon and Tuensang districts. He emphasized the important role of PLVs, NGO and concerned District Legal Service Authorities whereby citizens could be made aware of the rights particularly those from remote ignorant villages and to enable them have access for justice through such legal aid clinic at the grass root level.
He said through men to men interaction in legal aid clinic, individuals and society are made to aware that justice is not denied by virtue of being poor or illiterates.
Participating in the interaction, village administrative heads and NGOs workers assured co-operation in successful implementation of “Access to Justice (A2J)” project in the district.
Nokshei Kano, Secretary of Mon District Legal Services Authority, chaired the programme, while Neiko Kanuo, chairman Mon District Legal Services Authority, delivered the welcome address, and Penal Lawyer Mrs Mannon Konyak delivered vote of thanks.
Altogether 80 members attended the programme.
