GOUN to organise natl workshop

Global Open University Nagaland (GOUN), in collaboration with Archaeological Survey of India and Society for Cultural Heritage for North East India, has announced to organize a one day workshop and seminar on “Conservation and restoration of archaeological monuments in India’s North East: Issues and challenges during 21st Century AD” on February 6 from 9 a.m. at GOUN campus, 7th Mile, Sodzulhou village PO ARTC.
Opening ceremony of the programme would be graced by TN Mannen, IAS retired, as the chief guest. Dr Syed Jamal Hasan, Director of Excavation, Archaeological Survey of India; Dr. SK Manjul, Director, Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi; Dr. Milan Chouley, Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India, Guwahati Circle, Guwahati, Assam; and Dr. Neeta Das, Conservationist from Kolkata, would be the resource persons.
GOUN Vice Chancellor, Dr. HN Dutta, has informed that there would be open photographic exhibition on monuments of the North region of India for public and students. Participants and delegates from the States of North region of India would be attending the seminar.
