AR organises tour for students in Peren

Assam Rifles has organized a National Integration Tour for students from Peren district to New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra on January 11.
It was a dream journey for most of them hailing from the north eastern region of India. The students exuded great sense of joy and happiness during sightseeing, meeting and interacting with local populace, shopkeepers and children.
During the first day of the tour at Jaipur, children visited various places like, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall Museum and Jaigarh Fort. The next day, they visited Jal Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, City Palace and Birla Temple. 
Master Nzamhingbe of St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Peren, expressed desire to pursue his higher studies at Jaipur on seeing the beautiful city and the education opportunities it presented.
The children got firsthand knowledge of the rich heritage and the rapid modernization that has taken place in this part of the country.  It provided an excellent opportunity to the students to interact with the people, increase their awareness and understanding and be proud of being part of this great country. Children also interacted with Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni, GOC-in-C South Western Command, and other officers and ladies of HQ South Western Command. 
From Jaipur, the team would visit New Delhi where students would also witness the Army Day Parade and meet important dignitaries.
