On the occasion of the 66th Republic Day celebration, district level exhibition was conducted to create awareness to farmers and also general public about the latest technologies and techniques developed in agriculture and allied sectors. The exhibition was organized by the Agriculture and Allied departments under the banner of Agriculture Technologies Management Agency (ATMA), Dimapur.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the DC & Chairman ATMA, Dimapur, Wezope Kenye. The chief guest visited ATMA exhibition stalls and expressed appreciation to Agriculture and Allied departments for working tirelessly for the uplift of farmers.
The exhibition saw participation from department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Land Resources Development, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Fishery, Soil Conservation and KVK, ICAR-Jharnapani.
Stalls have displayed various items of vegetables and spices locally grown in the district, different varieties of cereals and millets, Agro chemicals, power machineries, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, IPM Kits etc. Horticulture department had put up different fruits and flowers produced in Dimapur district, while the Sericulture department exhibited silk garments and accessories of silk bedspread and pillow cases along with different silk yarns produced in the district.
The Department of Land Resources and Co-Operation displayed and sold items produced by various SHGs for promotion. Members from three SHGs also participated in exhibition and items were sold at subsidized rate.
Veterinary & Animal Husbandry department exhibited different breeds of farm animals that could be reared in the state and district in particular and also initiated free animal vaccination from the department. KVK, ICAR-Jharnapani also took part in exhibition.
Different technologies were exhibited through literature, farm implements and different breeds of rabbit and poultry were also displayed and sold.
Technology dissemination through literatures on different agriculture and allied technologies were distributed at the exhibition. To create more awareness on Green Environment, ATMA Dimapur also distributed eco-friendly jute bags to the officers and staffs of Agri-allied department.
