Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) along with its sister organizations including Nagaland Catholic Women Association (NCWA) and Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) visited Bright Morning Star Orphanage at Para Medical Colony in Kohima as part of the Republic Day Celebration January 26.
In a press release, CAN secretary general Johnny Ruangmei stated that the association and the visiting team from NCWA and NCYM appreciated the dedication and commitment of the proprietor. They also lauded management team of the orphanage home for the quality upbringing of the children. The team said the smile of the children from the orphanage home indicated the right value systems given to the children by the management team.
KMC: As part of the Republic Day celebration, Kohima Municipal Council team led by its administrator Kovi Meyase visited Jo Foundation and extended gifts both in cash and kind.
Speaking at the event, Kovi Meyase said Jo Foundation was a unique school catering to the needs of the differently abled children and expressed his appreciation towards the Foundation for playing a vital role in moulding the future of those children.
He also lauded the teachers specially the ones who looked after the students with special needs for their valuable work and sacrifices. Jo foundation chairman Daniel Thong Seb, while giving a brief review of the foundation, said many children in the Foundation had some degree of disabilities such as learning and physical disabilities and Down syndrome. Daniel added that Jo foundation with its dedicated staff was making all possible efforts to cater to the needs of those children. He was confident that eventually the children would become contributors to the society.
NAAME: Nagaland Association for Adventure Mountaineering and Education (NAAME), under the banner of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kohima commemorated Republic Day at Tseminyu January 26.
On the occasion, the association paid homage to 10 old aged persons under Tseminyu sub-division including R. Khetso the founder of Council of Rengma Baptist Churches (CRBC) with gifts. NAAME also joined the main function at Tseminyu sub-division programme. It later joined Indian Red Cross Tseminyu unit and visited Tseminyu Community Health Centre.
Lions and Leo Club: Lions and Leo Club of Dimapur celebrated Republic Day at Loins Centre. The tricolour was hosted in the presence of the members of the Lions and the Leo Club of Dimapur followed by National anthem and flag salutation.
Lions and Leo Club members visited Prodigals Home and distributed food, stationery items etc under the chairmanship of Rampal Sharma.
