Lotha Hoho, Wokha has conveyed its “heartfelt” appreciation and congratulations to Mhonbeni Ezung on receiving the 2014 National Bravery Award.
In a press release, Lotha Hoho chairman Mhao Humtsoe and general secretary Mhondamo Ovung described the award, presented by the Prime Minister on the eve of 2015 Republic Day in New Delhi, as “remarkable achievement”.
The award carries a medal, a certificate, cash incentive, scholarship for completion of schooling and also scholarship for higher studies.
Signatories said the story of 8-year-old Mhonbeni Ezung was not only of bravery, but also an exceptional act of “presence of mind and determination”, which the Hoho admires.
Further, the hoho congratulated Mhonbeni Ezung for bringing laurels to Nagaland and the Lotha community.
“This achievement of Miss Mhonbeni is worthy of emulation; by all children and adults as well,” Hoho said and wished her the very best in all her endeavours. Hoho also prayed Almighty grant her the wisdom and courage to achieve more in the future also.
