Thousands thronged DDSC, the venue of the Republic Day celebration today where the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Wetsope Kenye, was the chief guest.
The chief guest unfurled the national flag and inspected parade displayed by teams from various schools and armed forces.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest highlighted some of the initiatives and achievements as well as the challenges. The DC also gave away Dimapur district citation award 2014.
The DC along with other dignitaries visited the stall exhibitions set up by various governmental sectors and SHGs.
The gathering was enthralled by entertainment extravaganza and cultural show presented by Katoshe and friends, DABA youth ministry, dog show by 22nd army unit, Chakhsang cultural troupe from Naga united village, Ayiko cultural troupe from Pimla village, Diphupar Lotha cultural troupe, Dimapur and Mech Kachari cultural troupe, Dimapur.
Earlier in the morning, national flags were hoisted in various government offices and institutions as well as in private buildings.
Football exhibition match between Bobashis XI and Gaonboras XI was held followed by prize distribution and retreat by 29th Assam Rifles.
Tuensang: Parliamentary Secretary for School Education, Yitachu, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Tuensang where he unfurled the National flag and took salute from 12 contingents.
Teak-won-do team from Tuensang was acknowledged for winning the medals in the national events during the award distributing ceremony. Cultural dance display from Chang, Khiamniungan and Sangtam cultural troupes were the other highlights of the programme.
Mokokchung: Minister for power, Kipili Sangtam was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from the impressive contingents.
Cultural presentation by Khensa Cultural Club, Sumi community Mokokchung, Ao Sungkum Cultural Club, Mokokchung Village, Government High School, Longkhum and Enchanters have added colours to the celebration.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up at the main venue to mark the celebration of the Day.
Wokha: Minister of Forest, Environment and Wildlife, Neikiesalie Kire has unfurled the national flag at Wokha local ground as the chief guest and took salute from seven parade contingents.
Presentation of folk song by Wokha Village C Khel women cultural club, Phiro cultural club and dance by Moses and Jackline were other highlights of the celebration.
Peren: Minister for Soil, National Highway and Mechanical Engineering, Nukluktoshi was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration at New DC Complex in Peren. The chief guest unfurled the national flag and took salute from five parade contingents.
Highlights of the programme included special number from Albert N Hau and friends, cultural dance was presented by JNV Peren.
Mon: Parliamentary Secretary of Transport and Information & Public Relations, P Paiwang Konyak was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration at Mon town. He unfurled the national flag and took salute from seven contingents.
The highlights of the day long programme included cultural dance by Shantham and Walo Cultural Society (female) and Pangpon Male Cultural Society, Tug of war between lady government employees and KNSK, arms display by 33rd Assam Rifles. The chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls.
Phek: Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker, Chotisu Sazo, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Phek town where he unfurled the national flag received Rashtriya salute and inspected eleven parade contingents.
The chief guest always gave away the district commendation certificates for their outstanding contributions to the society.
Presentation of folk songs and dances, tug of war between Dobashis and GBs & ward officials were other highlights of the celebration. The chief guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls put up by various government departments.
Zunheboto: Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Temsu Longkumer, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration held at Zunheboto public ground where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from eight parade contingents.
In the entertainment programme, 5th AR Zunheboto displayed pipe band, while men folk dance was presented by old town and women folk dance by new colony.
Kiphire: Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, A Chumremo Odyuo, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Kiphire town where unfurled the national flag and addressed the gathering.
Presentation of folk dance by Jena Singret women folk and Sumi Totomi women folk, special number by Tsaeila and JNV school were other highlights of the celebration. The chief guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls put up various government sectors and SHGs.
Longleng: Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, Nikashe Sema was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Longleng where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from 7 parade contingents.
The occasion was marked by an exhibition by Agri Techo Marketing Agency. Tug-of-war between DB/GB and officers and an exhibition football match between veteran team and Longleng district team were other highlights of the day.
Jakhama: Along with the rest of the country, Jakhama sub-division also observed The 66th Republic Day celebration by hosting National tri colour flag in all Government Institutions.
Tening: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tening, Thsuvisie Phoji has unfurled the national flag on the occasion of Republic Day. The National Anthem was sung by Baptist High School students, Tening town. All the heads of office, GBs, DBs, public leaders and general public attended the function.
Pfutsero: ADC Pfutsero, T Nchumbemo Odyuo, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Pfutsero where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from the parade contingents.
National Anthem was sung by students of Baptist Theological College, solo dance by Sharmila, special song by TMT School and sweets distribution. All government officials, NGO leaders, public leaders of Pfütsero town, students and public attended the function.
Chozuba: ADC Chozuba, Polan John, has unfurled the national flag during the Republic Day celebration in Chozuba sub-division. All the heads of the departments and staff, GBs, area public leaders attended the function.
Bhandari: ADC Bhandari, Orengthung Lotha, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Bhandari where he unfurled the national flag took salute from four parade contingents. A special Adivasi cultural folk song was presented by Nagaland Seed Farm, Merapani. EAC, Deputy Commandant 7th NAP and all ranks, SDPO, HODs, public leaders and citizens attended the programmr.
Thonoknyu: SDO (C) Thonoknyu, Shaying Shio, has unfurled the national flag and took salute from the 3rd NAP Thonoknyu on the occasion of the Republic Day celebration. All head of offices, government officials, public leaders, DBs, GBs, members of Adhoc town committee attended the programme.
Pungro: EAC Pungro, Chompenthung Ezung, has unfurled the national flag on the occasion of Republic Day celebration in Pungro sub-division. All head of offices, public leaders, NGOs and GBs attended the function.
Meluri: ADC, Meluri, John Tsülise Sangtam, has unfurled the national flag and took salute from seven parade contingents on the occasion of the Republic Day celebration in Meluri. The chief guest also visited the exhibition stall set up by Assam Rifles.
A football exhibition match was played between Meluri Range Sports Association and St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, Meluri.
Noklak: ADC Noklak, Janithung was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Noklak, where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from 4 parade contingents. The other highlights of the day included cultural dance performed by Kingniu VG. The celebration of Republic Day at Noklak was a grant success with participation of huge gathering.
Tizit: ADC Tizit, Renabomo Odyuo was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Tizit where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from 6 parade contingents. The National Anthem was sung by students of Holy Trinity School Tizit. The government officials, public, DBs and GBs attended the function. A tug of war was played between the DBs and GBs during the celebration.
Pughoboto: ADC Pughuboto, Nokchasashi was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration where he unfurled the national flag and took the salute from five parade contingents. On the occasion, special song was presented by Miss Topeni Shohe, Naga Orpheus 2014, folk dance by Lazami village and folk song by Pughoboto women group. The event was marked with tug of war and volleyball exhibition matches.
Aboi: ADC Aboi, Wasu Katiry (NCS) was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Aboi where he unfurled the national flag and took the salute from the parade contingents and also delivered the Republic Day speech.
Mangkolemba: ADC Mangkolemba, Limawapang Jamir was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Mangkolemba where he unfurled the national flag and addressed the public. A tug of war was played between Mangkolemba Adhoc Town Council and the Dobashi’s followed by a friendly volleyball match between the Christian Youth Department and Sporting Club, Mangkolemba.
Aghunato: ADC Aghunato, Orenthung Ezung was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Aghunato where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from march past contingent presented by 8th NAP D-Coy.
Longkhim: Republic day was observed at Longkhim where ADC, Yongchingkumla unfurled the national flag and took salute. All Heads of Offices, staff, GBs, DBs and the general public attended the function.
Satakha: ADC Satakha, Athrila S, was the chief guest of the Republic day celebration at Satakha where she unfurled the national flag and took salute from the parade contingents. The entertainment programme included, traditional fashion parade by SRSU, special number by Hoshepu K Zimo and cultural display (women) by Akhel and Admin hill, Satakha. The chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls.
Seyochung: ADC Seyochung, Mono Khaiam, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Sayochung where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from VG Yangzitong village A & B. National Anthem was sung by students of St. Mary High School Seyochung. All heads of government servants, GBs, public leaders attended the function.
Tobu: ADC Tobu, Akhup Thangsing, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from seven parade contingents. At Maknyakshu town, the national flag was unfurled by EAC Tobu Temsuchuba Jamir and at Mopong town by EAC Mopong, Yanithung Ngullie.
Tseminyu: ADC Tseminyu, Rikhweno M Meratsu, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Tseminyu where she unfurled the national flag and took salute from the parade contingents.
Volley ball exhibition matches were played between Rengma Students’ Union and male government employee, Rengma Mothers’ Association and ladies government employee.
Shamator: ADC Shamator, M Shayung Phom, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Shamator where he unfurled the national flag and delivered the Republic Day speech. Patriotic song was presented by M Kumrila and cultural display by Thovun and Lumsoberu cultural troupe. Volleyball and football exhibition matches were played between NGOs and government employees.
Changtongya: SDO (C) Changtonya, MS Thangpong, was the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration in Changtongya where he unfurled the national flag and took salute from the parade contingent.
National Anthem was sang by the students of Oriental School, Chantongya town. All Head of Offices, staff, NGO leaders and GBs attended the programmr.
