Survival Nagaland (SN), through its media and public relation cell, lauded the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) for apprehending an “illegal immigrant” with information by Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) and Aos in Mokokchung town for apprehending another illegal immigrant. SN said ANTA apprehended one Rajesh Sab a taxi driver while ferrying one Sabul Uddin to Kohima from Dimapur railway station through information from NAYO.
In Mokokchung town, one Niyaz-Uddin, involved in numerous businesses, was caught in New Market area and deported by the Ao public. SN said both the Chumukedima and Tsutepela check gates were to prevent Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants(IBIs) from entering the state but due to “corrupted policemen”, IBIs were ferried by taxis to Kohima and other districts, evident by increase in their numbers. SN said AKM had initiated Survival Mokokchung in 2007 to deport IBIs and felt it should be emulated by student, civil societies and youth organisations in all districts. SN also urged upon national workers to “stop recruiting IBIs as tax collectors” and not to protect or patronise IBIs or else they would be answerable to the young upcoming Nagas.
