A massive drainage construction got under way from Mohonkhola stream to BOC along the NH- 2 in the state capital with the active initiative of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, W Honje Konyak.
Speaking to media persons at the construction site, Kohima DC informed that the drainage has been neglected for many years which was under the care of BRO. Konyak said the slab pucca drainage would be 4 feet width and would be used for footpath along the highway once it completed.
Extending his gratitude, DC said it was under construction with the cooperation of public, house owners, T Khel, Ministers’ Hill Panchayat, KMC, Urban Development, BRO, police, district administration and fire brigades.
The main water outlet of the drainage which blocked for years has been cleared up on Saturday. DC said when the drainage is completed it would not only extend the congested road but beautify the town too.
