HPC on illegal taxation gets extension

Government of Nagaland in a notification issued by the home department on January 15, has given a month’s extension to the High Powered Committee set up to inquire into illegal and multiple taxation in Nagaland. According to the notification, the HPC has been granted further extension w.e.f January 13,2015 to submit its report. Other terms of reference of the HPC would however remain the same, the notification added.
It may be recalled, that the HPC was constituted on August 5, 2014 with Justice H.K.Sema, retired Supreme Court Judge as chairman, additional secy. justice and law department as member-secretary and ACAUT representatives- Joel Nillo Kath and K.K.Sema IAS (retd) as members. HPC was to have submitted its report within two months w.e.f the date of being constituted.
