Department of Postal Service has informed all public that a new scheme Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA) under the Ministry of Finance (DEA) has been launched by Prime Minister on January 22 for the benefit of the girl child. According to the scheme any girl child up to the age of 10 years could open an account.
The rate of interest is 9.1% per annum and two children could open an account in each family with a limit of Rs 1.5 lakh per child. Interested persons are asked to contact the nearest Post Office for detail information or log on to www.indiapost.gov.in.
