Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO) has lashed out at the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) decision to observe the Republic Day celebration at New Peren DC Complex on January 26 which it termed ‘a place where no public habitation has materialised as yet.’
ZPO through its Media Cell has questioned the government of the day for ignoring the very principle “government of the people, by the people and for the people” where public interest is concerned and more unyieldingly on a significant occasion such as the nation’s Republic Day.
ZPO asked whether being in the helm of governance, if it warrant anybody absolute authority to defeat public voice to nothingness, while it also questioned if observance of the nation’s Red Letter Day be down played to a negligible tea-party-like interaction of few officers in a jungle camp site without the public.
ZPO has disapproved the ‘dictatorial policy’ of the State government which only favours the interest of politicians in power and their affluent followers but against the wish of general public.
It said ZPO(N), as guardian of the people, might be compelled to initiate measures to discontinue appeals through peaceful and legitimate means but unceremoniously heave out all departments from Peren town to compulsorily function from the New DC, Peren Complex and thereafter deploy volunteers to monitor strict attendance in offices enforcing principle of “no work no pay’ upon all government employees immediately to scrutinize the sincerity and efficiency of this conceited government of the day.
However, it has urged for good sense to prevail when the time is at hand to ensure peaceful coexistence in the interest of general public or else it might be too disgraceful if none last long to see the heyday due to repugnant end result of the government’s obstinacy.
