The new office building of the District Industries Centre (NIC) was formally inaugurated by Keneilel Angami, Director of Industries & Commerce, on January 21 at the new district headquarters.
Addressing the gathering after the inauguration of the building, the chief guest said the new building is a New Year’s gift to the people of the district. He went on to emphasize that with New Year and New building, the staff of the DIC Peren should have a new and renewed mindset for the purpose for which they were posted.
He also reminded that government has provided all the required facilities to function and execute duties for the welfare of the public. He also apprised the gathering that failure to perform duty is a crime, a DIPR report said.
Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Peter Lichamo, in a brief speech, stated that the office of the DIC is the second office to be formally inaugurated at the new headquarters. He has lauded the efforts of the department for completing the office on time.
Earlier, I Bendangliba, Additional Director of Industries and Commerce, apprised the Department that inauguration of new office building alone would not serve the purpose unless execution of the department’s programmes are carried out actively as in the case of Kiphire district where 100% recovery was made under PMGSY.
Kainia Dilon, President Peren District GB Association, also spoke on the occasion.
The programme was chaired by Vihoto K Achumi, General Manager, DIC Peren, and Alum Zeliang, Inspector, pronounced the vote of thanks. Pastor Mongzeung Mpom invoked God’s blessings while Tingcha Singson enthralled the gathering with her melodious songs. Host of officers and public attended the programme.
