At the NPF and DAN legislators meeting held Tuesday at State Banquet Hall Kohima, the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) legislators have resolved to repose faith and support in chief minister T.R Zeliang.
Addressing press conference at the de Oriental Grand after the meeting, DAN spokesperson Yitachu said the meeting was attended by DAN alliance including 16 NPF members, one member each from JD(U) and NCP and seven independent members.
Lamenting over the political impasse, Yitachu expressed regret for the inconveniences caused to the general public and said a little more patience was required for the truth to be prevail.
The spokesperson assured that DAN government under the leadership of T.R Zeliang and BJP-led NDA government at the centre would “never fail” the people of Nagaland.
On the black money issue, Yitachu said it was not a subject matter of the state, adding that chief minister has rightly taken up the matter with the centre.
Further, pointing out that chief minister has already welcomed investigation and written a letter to the RBI governor, Yitachu said it spoke volume that Zelaing committed nothing wrong as alleged.
Maintaining that one cannot manufacture any fake documents just for “greed of power”, he said “rebel group or dissident group” were never legitimate and that their systems were not recognized.
DAN spokesperson reaffirmed that government under T.R Zeliang has the majority in the house of 60 in NLA, adding that nothing would happen under the leadership of Zeliang.
Stating that matter now lay with governor, he said it was matter of time that governor would summon the house to let the truth prevail.
About the Delhi trip, Yitachu said it was not a question of whether the team met prime minister or not. He said as BJP was an alliance partner with DAN they met the concerned BJP central leaders and appraised them on the issue.
Admitting the suffering of the public, Yitachu however said there was no constitutional breakdown. He said to remove chief minister it has to be through a no-confidence motion or CM paves way for others to occupy like the former chief minister Neiphiu Rio did.
Yitachu also reiterated that the “real NPF party” was led by Dr. Shürhozelie, adding that his presidentship and officer bearers were approved during general convention and the list of which were available with Election Commission of India.
He maintained that no rhetoric or propaganda could change the records available with election commission.
