Republic Day review meet held

A review meeting relating to works distribution for the celebration of Republic Day 2015 was held on January 19 under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary and Home Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar.
The meeting discussed that the Republic Day function would be held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza as usual where various contingents would take part in the ceremonial parade.
The main attraction for the forthcoming Republic Day would be the stalls for exhibition-cum-sales by Agri and Allied sectors. Assam Rifles, 164 Naga Territorial Army and Air Force would also put up exhibition stalls. Cultural programmes and entertainment including showering of petals from helicopter would be the highlights of the morning programme.
In the afternoon there would be an exhibition football match between the IG Academy Girls and the Kohima Veterans, tug-of-war, band display and beating of retreat etc would mark the occasion.
The Nagaland State Transport Department would arrange transportation for public convenience to Secretariat plaza on January 26.
