Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd (NSCB), Chozuba Branch, has organized a financial literacy camp cum banking services program on January 14 at New Creation Ministry Oasis Resource Centre, Sekruzu town. The programme was supported NABARD under FIF.
S Kevi Hibo, ABM, has highlighted on the significant role of the area leaders and the general public in the uplift of the department and branch in particular. He also apprised the gathering on the benefits of opening zero accounts (PMJDY), how to form JLG & KCC and avail loans from the bank.
Branch Manager, NSCB, PR Hill, Kohima, PP Bose, spoke on the activities of SHGs and its promotion, while Anyei Walliemp, EAC, Sekruzu, stressed on the recovery of loans as a major challenge for the NSCB and the increasing percentage of non-performing assets. While stressing on the rules and directives of Reserve Bank of India to be followed by the banks and loaners, he urged the VCCs, VDBs to extend all possible help and support to bank in the recovery of loans. He also assured that the administration would always be ready to extend logistic support to the NSCB.
Hukashi Yepthomi, EAC Chozuba, spoke on the rights and moral responsibilities, do’s & don’ts, etiquettes to be practice by the customers and bridging the gap between the bankers and customers. She also requested the bank officials and staff to be polite while dealing with the customers and to not take the advantage at the ignorance of the customer but maintain transparency in the banking operations.
The programme was attended by VCCs, VDBs, SHGs, GBs, ATC members and general public of the area.
The programme was chaired by S Kevi Hibo, ABM Chozuba Branch NSCB Ltd. The programme was organized to facilitate and educate the rural poor farmers on the concept of zero accounts (PMJDY), banking facilities and to make people to avail credit facilities available with the bank.
