Based on specific information, troops of 18 Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of Headquarters 6 sector Assam Rifles (AR) busted an illegal arms manufacturing workshop in general area Nkwazi colony on January 14 in Peren.
During the search, owner of the workshop Disongbou Chawong (47) was apprehended along with one .22 Pistol, one .22 Rifle, three 12 Bore Rifles, assorted ammunitions, partially fabricated weapon, 25 explosive sticks (3.125 kg), 4 detonators, 17 meter safety fuse, 4 meter cordex, various parts of weapons and tools used for arms fabrication.
Later, the apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to Peren police station.
