The final day at Maati Ke Rang 2015 began with a large number of children participating in the solo singing competition. The festival was held from January 13-17 at the NEZCC complex in Dimapur.
The solo singing competition saw 42 talented child artistes who presented their vocal chords in an eclectic manner- singing in English and Hindi. Judges for the competition were Diethozo Thakro and Venetulo Tetseo.
The show began at 11 a.m. and concluded at 2 p.m. A 5-year-old Arenlong Longkumer was seen at the drums doing his magic on his percussion set. Winner of the solo singing competition was Aloino Chophy, with Sentila Kichu in second position. Consolation prizes were won by Meikingo Panmei, Sonali Lodh, Imlikokha Jamir, Aotoshi Longkumer and Nungshi Yanger Imsong.
Another attraction of the day was the performance by a multi talented Naga musician Tali Angh who entertained the audience with his music. With his soul reaching voice, Angh put up a splendid performance of a mix of his powerful songs. His genre encompasses mainly Christian contemporary music, pop, pop rock and acoustic. The singer and songwriter has been a judge of the Naga Orpheus Hunt for five consecutive times. Angh’s debut album ‘Take it slow’ was recently launched in Nagaland.
The early evening saw Tiwa traditional games from Assam. This shifted to an international cultural show with traditional dancers from Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, and Ghazal singers from Bangladesh kept the audience glued to their seats.
