AKM deplores poor workmanship

Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has expressed dismay over the ‘sub standard’ workmanship in the ongoing construction of road works (135-156 km) at NH 2 (formerly NH 61).
Talking to scribes this afternoon, AKM officials said that the works were being carried out without proper machineries and without adhering to the guideline. The AKM officials claimed that the layers of blacktopping was thin which was against the prescribed guidelines
AKM has cautioned to initiate proper step as deemed fit against those concerned contractors if the works are not carried out as per the work order. Further, the AKM has also requested the concerned department to advise the contractor for good services in executing the works.
The ongoing road repair is being undertaken by a firm called Vertex Construction. The repairing process has already been completed 50% and that the remaining works is expected to complete by June-July this year.
