NPF clarifies on alliance partners

NPF said it was constrained to issue a statement “to clear the air of confusion being created by some vested interests, with the sole intention to damage the long established trust between the NPF-led DAN coalition partners, the BJP in particular”.
In a clarification, NPF working president Apong Pongener pointed out that having established a pre-poll alliance with the BJP since 2003 State Assembly elections, “NPF and BJP has been functioning effectively, keeping a healthy relation with the State as well as the High Command of the BJP through DAN-I to DAN-III”.
It said that under the leadership of the present chief minister, T.R. Zeliang and NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezetsu, that party had been maintaining “a transparent and cordial relation with the BJP and look forward with all seriousness to strengthen and carry it forward”. However, NPF said it was “unfortunate that certain section of BJP party men under the instigation of power mongers have caused the present rift between the two stake holders”.
This, NPF said was endangering the future relation of the two (NPF-BJP), “spreading falls information through rumor mills that NPF is trying to form the Government with the Congress support, which is totally false and baseless”.
NPF appealed to all concerned “not to be carried away by such baseless handiworks of some vested interests”.
