3 held for burglary, IMFL seized

Basing on FIR filed at North Police Station by Nell Vasa, Deputy Programme Director of State Investment Programme Management and Implementation Unit (SIPMIU), assistant by Asian Development Bank, Old Secretariat Complex, Kohima, on January 7, Kohima police personnel have arrested three persons.
SIPMIU deputy director Nell Vasa has filed an FIR on January 7 to the effect that cash amounting to Rs 72,000, which was kept at the office for staffs salary and office expenses, were found missing from the almirah.
The three accused were arrested following investigation a CD of CCTV footage which was downloaded from the CCTV installed at Account section of the office.
The three accused have been identified as Avituo Peya (19), son of Khriesakuolie of Viphoma village, Hekhotuo (21), son of Sozelie of Viphoma village, and Vekhoto (21), son of Mezihu of Thenyizu village. They were arrested on January 9.
All the three suspects have voluntarily admitted to have committed the offence in connivance with accused Hekhotuo, who is presently serving as peon in the said office. Based on their admission, police recovered two monitors, one CPU (Compaq), one CPU HP, one laser Jet P1007 and its accessories from their possession which were accordingly handed over to the concerned Department on Zimma.
Kohima SDPO and PRO, Atu Zumvu informed that efforts are on to recover the stolen cash amounting to Rs 72,000.
Meanwhile, on January 8 at around 0635 hrs, police personnel of Sechü (Zubza) Police Station, while conducting a surprise checking at NH-39, intercepted one Alto car (800) local taxi bearing Registration No. NL-01/T-8631 and seized 240 Nos of Kingfisher canned beer and 96 bottles of rum from the possession of Atoulie (29), son of Neibou of Kohima village, and Kozou (26), son of Jaume of Yorba village.
In this connection, a regular case vide Zubza (Sechü) PS Case No. 0002/2015 U/S 44 NLTP Act was registered against the above persons and they are remanded into judicial custody.
