Former Director of Nagaland Development Outreach (NDO), Dr. Hukashe Zhimomi, on Sunday took over the reins of executive secretary of Nagaland Police Baptist Church Association (NPBCA) from the outgoing NPBCA executive secretary, Rev. Dr. N Mong Lotha. The installation ceremony of Dr. Hukashe was held Sunday afternoon at NPBCA jubilee hall, Chumukedima, in the presence of family members, relatives and members of the Association.
Executive secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Rev. Dr. Anjo Keikung, who led the installation ceremony, said servanthood and leadership in the context of church leaders should be based on humility and acceptance of a higher calling from the Almighty. Stressing on the challenges of a spiritual leader, which he called as “servant leader”,Anjo said the true quality of a “servant leader” should emanate from within oneself and not imposed from outside like the hierarchy in the police force.
The outgoing Executive Secretary of NPBCA, Rev. Dr. Mong, in his farewell speech, has thanked all rank and file of Nagaland Police and NPBCA for their constant support and guidance. Rev. Mong who had dedicated his services in NPBCA for almost 18 years in various capacities prayed that peace, understanding and goodwill would prevail among the NPBCA units and members. He has sought similar support to the new Executive Secretary.
The newly installed ES of NPBCA, Dr. Hukashe Zhimomi, in his response said the attitude and style of worship in Christian churches have change over the years, especially in the present context. Dr. Hukashe said church leaders in the 21st Century are challenged to be a prophetic leaders who would stand in the gap between God and man; to bring the word of God to the people.
Dr. Hukashe said he was honoured to serve the ‘King of kings and Lord of lords’ as an Executive Secretary of NPBCA. He has assured to live up to NPBCA’s motto “Unity, Faith and Witness”, and to be light unto others.
DIG, Nagaland Police, Bendang Lemtur; Rev, Manen and youth secretary, NPBCA, Aselie, also spoke on the occasion. President, NPBCA, N Ritse chaired the farewell-cum-installation service.
