NPF group with Kaito Aye held a joint meeting of the NPF central office bearers, CEC members, divisional unit presidents, assembly constituency presidents and senior NPF leaders in Dimapur on January 10 and unanimously adopted a 4-point resolution.
In a press release, co-ordination committee convenor Nuzota Swuro and co-convenor T. Shuya said that the meeting was attended by 36 A/C presidents, six division unit presidents, 145 senior NPF party leaders including central office bearers, women wing and youth wing, wherein the following resolutions were adopted:
1. Extended full support and confidence in the decision of NPF legislators majority electing G. Kaito as the leader of the NPF legislature party.
2. Expresses strong resentment against the divisive action of Dr. Shürhozelie, NPF president who took autocratic and dictatorial action in suspending 7 NPF MLAs, the repercussion of which is leading to division of the party.
3. Sincerely appeal to all NPF party rank and file to come out and extend their support to G. Kaito Aye who has been unanimously elected by majority NPF legislators so as to save the unity of NPF party and protect inner democracy within NPF
4. Expresses its regret against NPF president for failing in his responsibility to initiate any reconciliatory step within the party as the head/father of the party and remaining partisan to a particular group and working against the stand of majority.
Kaito, MPs yet to meet HM; likely today
Staff Reporter Adds: Leader of the NPF dissidents G. Kaito Aye and Nagaland MPs Neiphiu Rio and Khekiho Zhimomi could not meet union Home minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday as claimed by camp sources.
According to reliable sources, the trio were not given an appointment with Rajnath and instead had to spend the whole day waiting for the appointment. It maybe noted that sources from Kaito’s camp have been claiming that the trio left for Delhi at the home minister’s invitation and “not on thier own”. When contacted, sources from Kaito’s camp clarified that the trio were supposed to meet Rajnath on Sunday and not Saturday. The source further claimed that the trio also met “all party leaders” on Saturday.
