Basing on specific information, District Intelligence Branch (DIB) of DEF Kohima swung into action and intercepted two Maruti vans while trying to smuggle IMFL and arrested two persons on January 10 at around 7 AM from Zero Point, Chakhabama in Kohima district.
Police recovered 50 cases of IMFL consisting 25 cases of MC Rum, 12 cases of MC whisky, 10 cases of OC Blue whisky, 3 cases of Beer from two Maruti vans bearing Registration Nos. NL-01H-6132 (Dark Blue) and NL-01H-7189 (Dark Blue).
Two persons namely Kezevito Sachü (20), son of Ado Sachü, and Kelevi Yongo (20), son of Sakuo Yongo, both from Chakhabama village in Kohima district were arrested in this connection. They were accordingly booked under NLTP Act at Khuzama PS, Kohima, and remanded into police custody for further investigation, SDPO and PRO Atu Zumvu said.
