Deliezhü monolith erected in Kuda

A monolith in memory of Late Deliezhü Angami Sote was erected and inaugurated at Deliezhü Colony, popularly called ‘D’ Colony, at Kuda Village ‘C’ Khel, Dimapur, on January 8.
The monolith was erected by the children/ grandchildren and family of Late Deliezhü Angami, landowner of the colony and longest served GB of Kuda village formerly known as Nagarjan. He served for 46 years from 1962 till his demise in 2008. The memorial monolith was unveiled by Mrs Abeiü Meru, President of Naga Mothers’ Association, and the dedicatory prayer was invoked by Pastor Hundo Gwanilo of Nagamese Church, Kuda village C Khel. 
The programme was chaired by Abou Sote, GB, Kuda ‘C’ Khel and son of Lt. Deliezhü Angami.
Late Deliezhü from Pfuchatsuma Khel was born in 1916 in Kohima village. Late Deliezhü had served in the Assam Regiment under the erstwhile British Empire from 1945-47. He was a recipient of 3 Gallantry Medals of the Empire including the Burma Star.  After retirement, he founded Kuda village alongwith senior pioneers and settled permanently since 1948. He first served as Assistant GB to senior GB Nimedo Sakhrie and later became the first chairman of Nagarjan Village Council.
He was a patriarch to the people of Nagarjan (Kuda) and rendered numerous service and contribution to the villagers and also public of Dimapur in its early years. He promoted peace and communal harmony among all citizens living together in the village.
