A joint team of Dimapur police and Naga Cemetery in-charge and his party have arrested one habitual thief of grave yard construction materials on January 8 at around 11 a.m.
The accused has been identified as Sunjemmeren Imchen (31 yrs), son of Lt. Samuel Imchen of Sungratsu village under Mokokchung district and presently residing at Nagarjan. He was arrested from Naga Cemetery while stealing the construction materials of the grave yard.
Additional Superintendent of Police and PRO said some of the stolen items were recovered from different locations. Moreover, one accomplice namely Ekhonthung of Notun Bosti Dimapur managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Case in this connection has been registered with the West Police Station and investigation is on to arrest the co-accused person, the statement said.
