Govt constitutes committee on NRHM

State government has constituted the District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (DLVC) to monitor the progress and implementation of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
The Committee would be headed by Member of Parliament Lok Sabha Neiphiu Rio as chairman, Chief Medical Officer of the concerned district as member secretary and convenor, and all MLAs of the concerned district, chairpersons / chief executive officer / administrators, Deputy Commissioners of all district, District Welfare Officer of the concerned district, District Education Officer of the concerned district, Project Director, Rural Development of the concerned district as members. The committee would review the progress of implementation of the annual district health action plan under NHM and provide guidance; review the release of funds by the Centre and States, utilization thereof and unspent balance; undertake regular monitoring visits to the fields, visit to the peripheral health facilities and assess their performance including drug availability; and ensure that a fully functional management structure is in place and is properly utilized.
It would also ensure constructive engagement and particular of all concerned departments in the district for multi-sectoral intervention and recommend corrective measures to ensure that the program objectives are achieved and services delivered in an effective as well as efficient manner.
