Hectic preparations are on at the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, for hosting the Maati Ke Rang festival, the first of its kind in the North East Region.
Speaking to DIPR, Director NEZCC Lipokmar Tzudir informed that Maati Ke Rang is considered to be one of the largest festivals of the Government of India under the Ministry of Culture.
Explaining that the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, recognizes every tribe, every region as a distinctive body of knowledge, Lipokmar expressed optimism that greater interest of cultural respect and appreciation to one another heritage would be triggered through the Maati Ke Rang festival.
At least 10,000 visitors from in and around Dimapur as well as from other states are expected to attend the festival. Under the Government of India, there are seven zonal cultural centers and all the zonal centers would be representing with their respective artists.
He informed that around 600 artists have confirmed their participation, adding some have already arrived in Dimapur. Union ministers, senior officials from Government of India and hosts of dignitaries would be present during the festival.
