Rumble within Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state unit for removal of its incumbent president, Dr. M Chuba, is getting louder with each passing day.
Recently on December 12, the Phek BJP workers held protest rally for his removal in the State Office, Dimapur. Following suit, the ST Morcha, Dimapur district unit, today reinforced the demand for his removal on his alleged ‘anti Narendra Modi’ activity.
Around 50 officials of ST Morcha Dimapur district staged a protest rally at the State office reiterating demand for immediate removal of its “adhoc president”, Dr. M Chuba. Many rallyists held placards some of which read: ‘We want good leadership in BJP not dictatorship,’ ‘We want Mr Chuba to step down from BJP president,’ ‘Mr Chuba anti-Modi party’.
Morcha officials also forwarded a memorandum to the national BJP president Amit Shah. The memorandum signed by its president Ghotoi Awomi and general secretary, Y Pukhaho Yeptho alleged that Dr. M Chuba never raise appreciation to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in any party statement in print media and party meetings in the State.
It also stated that in 2014, five upcoming party workers namely Bill Lotha, Noklen Konyak, Trongba Konyak, Johny Rengma and Er. Vekho Swuro were suspended while one of them was expelled for promotional work of Modi during membership drive.
The memorandum also alleged that Dr. M Chuba declined to forward message in the coffee table book prepared by Er. Vekho Swuro titled ‘The man with a mission our Prime Minister Narendra Modi,’ which it claimed was an essential book to let people have better understanding and get involved in the party.
Claiming that it has enough evidence which was beyond doubt on anti Narendra Modi activities by Dr. M Chuba, ST Morcha Dimapur unit urged the national president to remove him from the post of State BJP president for the betterment of the party in Nagaland. Further, to avoid other district units from staging protest against Dr. M Chuba and in order to maintain the party image, ST Morcha has demanded the national president to remove the State president with immediate effect.
