Dmu citizens welcome New Year

People from all walks of life congregated at the Clock Tower, Dimapur, to welcome the advent of New Year, an event organized by The Watchman on December 31 on the theme ‘My city, my future.’
It was organized to let young and old alike come to a venue without alcohol or other vices that is usually associated with the New Year’s eve celebration. There was excellent music by various bands who gave their best to cheer up the crowd.  The bands that gave their time and effort were Sinai band, Pursuit, Tali Angh, Leshelimi, Watchman, and a few individuals namely Livika Swu, Kenei, Tohupeto, etc.
The evening programme was introduced by Rev. Robert and led in prayer by Rev. Dr. Shiwoto Assumi.  Participants have enjoyed the good music and sample food from the stalls.
The programme concluded with lighting lanterns and prayer declared over the city of Dimapur and Nagaland state for the coming year of 2015.
Meanwhile, The Watchman Team has expressed gratitude at the overwhelming support rendered by the citizens to make the event a grand success.
