Dimapur police nab two for collection

Acting on a tip off, Dimapur Police personnel arrested two persons for allegedly indulging in collection of tax in the name of underground groups January 3 at around 1 p.m. in Dimapur.
The two arrested persons have been identified as one Amento Chopy (31), son of Hevekhe Chophy, Hoito village, under Diphupar PS Dimapur and Kavito Achumi (30), son of Kiyevi, Lochumi village, Akuluto PS, Zunheboto district, residing at Purana Bazar Dimapur.
In a press release, Dimapur police PRO said on frisking the two, the following items were recovered from their possession: (1) Extorted money amounting to `5610 (2) Receipt of vehicle tax for bricks transportation of Govt. of the Peoples Republic of Nagalim, Ministry of Chaplee – 02 Nos. (3) Bricks Challan of Federal Government of Nagaland- 01 No. and (4) Lorry Challan-Guide Pass Association – 01 No. “It is ascertained that they were employed by the UGs for collection of taxes at Bamunpukhuri area,” said PRO. According to police, a case has been registered with Dimapur East police station for further investigation.
