CorCom, ZRO, Rio, others condole demise of late Isak Chishi Swu

Co-ordination Committee (CorCom) of four major rebel groups in Manipur and Zomi Re-unification Organisation (ZRO) have condoled the demise of NSCN(I-M) chairman Isak Chishi Swu in separate statements issued on Wednesday. In its condolence message, CorCoM stated that “In his long and fruitful life as a revolutionary leader of our WEASEA region, Sir Isaac severed and dedicated his whole life to the cause of his people and was an inspiration to so many freedom fighters of the region.”
He was courageous and unwavering during his national service and deeply religious, the CorCom stated. “Our painful thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time when he received the final call of the Almighty. May his solute rest in peace,” it added.
ZRO stated that late Isak Chishi Swu steered the Naga movement for self-determination over three decades, and remained faithful for the cause till his last breath. His undaunted commitment for the emancipation of the Naga and deep concern for the political survival of other indigenous people in Northeast India, particularly the tribals of Manipur (hill areas) was unparallel in the history of revolutionary movements in the region, ZRO statement said. “His death is undoubtedly a great loss for the Naga and other revolutionary organisations in Northeast region, yet he has displayed a personality and statesmanship worthy to emulate for others.”  Although the vacuum created by his demise was hard to fill, ZRO expressed hope and prayed that the Naga leaders stood firm in the cause he died for. Rio: Expressing deep pain at the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu, chairman of the NSCN/GPRN, the lone MP Lok Sabha and former chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, has said that his death was “indeed a huge loss and an enormous setback for all Nagas especially at this juncture of our political journey.”
In his condolence message to Mrs. Euster Chishi Swu, the MP described late leader as “one of the greatest patriots”, who sacrificed everything he had for the rights and aspirations of Naga people.  (Full tetx on p-6)
Ao Senden: Condolence service in honour of late Isak Chishi Swu was organized by Ao Senden at Ao Kaketshir Mundang conference hall on June 30 at Mokokchung.  A press note by Ao Senden president, Imolemba Jamir and assistant general secretary, Lemasashi stated that speakers of different organizations paid rich tributes to the NSCN (IM)  Yaruiwo late Isak Chishi Swu. The civil societies and NGOs of Mokokchung district also shared the sorrow with the bereaved family and pray to the Almighty God to give peace and comfort for the soul of the beloved leader to rest in peace. The condolence service was attended by the officials and well wishers of Watsu Mungdang, Ao Kaketshir Mungdang, Concern Citizens Forum, Senior Citizens Forum, Mokokchung  Town Aor Telungjem(MTAT) and Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT). 
RH: Rengma Hoho (RH) has expressed its deepest sorrow and grief at the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu, “one among the Nagas who had the zeal for humanity and peace has left a vacuum difficult to fill.” In a condolence message, the Hoho stated that his leadership and commitement towards the cause of the Nagas has no dispute and shall be cherished by the Nagas. Rengma Hoho also conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, near and dear ones and prayed God grant them comfort.
ENSA: Eastern Naga Students’ Association (ENSA) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi was a veteran leader, who worked immensely and earnestly for the Nagas’ right and freedom throughout his life. ENSA stated that in his demise, the Naga people in general have lost a true freedom fighter. ENSA on behalf of the Nagas of Myanmar has conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to Almighty to grant solace and peace to the departed soul.
NNC/PRN: NNC/PRN MIP in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as an extraordinary and remarkable person who devoted his life for nation. The MIP stated that he had touched so many lives and share pain and struggle for nation.
MWAK: Mao Welfare Association Kolkata (MWAK) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu was one of those who left everything behind and painstakingly fought for the cause of Naga throughout his life with dedication and that he would remain an illustrious Naga leader for generations to come. MWAK said it share the grief of the family and Naga people during this trying time.
NPF central youth wing: NPF central youth wing in a condolence message described late Isak Chishi as a man respected by one and all, dynamic, humble and God’s commissioned leader who had sacrificed everything for the Naga nation-for a better tomorrow. The central youth wing has conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, near and dear ones and prayed to God for the departed soul to rest in peace.
C. L. John: Minister C. L. John in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi was rightly known as a true national freedom fighter, honest, trustworthy, committed, God fearing and dedicated leader of the state and beyond. He said that the people of Nagaland have lost a devoted and visionary leader, who took a major role, particularly in the ongoing Indo-Naga Political Peace talk. “May loving God hold and comfort his family and may his soul find its eternal peace and rest in God’s heavenly kingdom”, said John. 
CBCC: Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) in a condolence message said it pay highest respect to late Isak Chishi Swu as political liberator and also described him as a genuine God-fearing leader and a man of prayer who walked in the direction of the Holy Spirit and proclaimed the message of peace and salvation. CBCC said it prayed that the departed soul rest in peace and that the Lord will grant solace to the members of the bereaved family.
MLA Tovihoto Ayemi: MLA Tovihoto in a condolence message described late Isak Chishi as a leader of the highest calibre endowed with God fearing quality, pleasing personality. He said late Isak Chishi undaunted efforts for peace and unity among the Nagas have drawn huge admiration of the populace. He further stated that his struggles and sacrifices to assert the rights of the Naga people will go down richly in “our” people’s history.  MLA has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray that Almighty grant the departed leader rest in perfect heavenly peace.
PNU: Poumai Naga Union (PNU) the apex body of Poumai tribe in a condolence message described late Isak Chishi Swu as a true Naga patriot leader who defended for the cause of Naga nation his whole life with courage. PNU said it joins with the rest of the Naga people and family members in mourning and prayed that almighty God comfort the bereaved family members and the departed soul to rest in peace.             
ANGPTA Mkg unit: Mokokchung unit of ANGPTA in a condolence message described late Isak Chishi Swu as the man who truly worked for the welfare of the government primary teachers and personally took initiative in the formation of the association in Mokokchung district. The association said it shall always remain grateful to him and conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members
RYOP: Rongmei Youth Organization Peren (RYOP) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu legacy of leadership will remain a model for the generation to follow. The Rongmei family has conveyed sorrow with the Sumi at the loss of “our” great Naga leader produced from the Sumi family. 
DBA: Dimapur Bar Association (DBA) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu legacy will continue to inspire generations to come in the common hope for self determination and that his exemplary and extraordinary life was worthy of commendation beyond the ordinary. DBA said late Swu sacrifice towards the cause was beyond all measure for which the Naga people from all walks of life will remain forever indebted. The Bar has extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the almighty God provide strength and solace in facing the grief and pain that has befallen.    
AYO: Angami Youth Orgnization (AYO) has acknowledged the contributions made by late Isak Chishi Swu towards the Naga struggle for self determination and dignity, who till the last resource of his strength truly and unwaveringly represented the Naga cause at all conditions and forums. AYO stated that the sacrifices of late Swu would inspire and guide the Nagas to come over their bickering differences to weave on together to built a strong Naga nation. AYO said it joins in sharing its sorrow with the bereaved family and pray God the Almighty grant eternal peace and rest to the departed soul.
MCCI: Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu was a man of high ideals who lived by his life principles without compromise, a bold and courageous leader. MCCI has conveyed deepest condolences and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
CGU: Chumukedima Gorkha Union (CGU) in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as a true nationalist and a stern freedom fighter, who laid down his life for the cause of the Naga nation. It also stated that the legacy he had left would always be treasured and remembered in the days to come. CGU has further conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and peace to the departed soul.
NTC: Nagaland Tribes Council in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as one of the tallest Naga leaders who had dedicated all his life for the cause of Naga aspiration. It also hoped that the legacy would continue to guide and ameliorate the Naga cause by generations to take it to the higher level.
WDGBA: Wokha District Gaun Bora Association (WDGBA) in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as an important leader who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of the Nagas and as a God fearing champion for peace, freedom and reconciliation. It has conveyed heartfelt condolence to his beloved wife and family and all the rank and files of NSCN (I-M) and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
CNSA: Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu would forever be etched in the annals of the Naga history and that his name would be forever remembered. CNSA said it shares the grief and sorrow with the family member and prayed to the almighty God to grant peace to the departed soul, solace to the families and the Naga people at this hour of grief. 
ANCSF: All Nagaland Co-operative Societies Federation (ANCSF) in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as a selfless, dedicated patriotic leader for the Naga political freedom movement, who was also a God fearing leader. ANCSF has conveyed deepest condolences to the near and dear ones of departed and for his soul to rest in eternal peace. 
AIFFSO Nagaland unit: All India Freedom Fighters and Successors organization (AIFFSO) of Nagaland in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu had sacrificed and spent his life time for “our” national cause and his life would be an inspiration for the future generations too.  The association has conveyed its deep condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that God grant them strength at this hour of grief and the departed soul to rest in peace.
NSCA: Nagaland Senior Citizens Association (NSCA) in a condolence message said it salutes and honour Isak Chishi Swu for his exceptional and positivity in executing the 3rd August “frame work agreement” with the government of India. NSCA stated that in his death the Nagas have lost a peace warrior, soul winner and a great patriot for which the nation shall ever remember him. NSCA said it sincerely prayed that the Almighty God grant comfort to the bereaved family members. 
NWSWM: Naga Women Soul Winners Ministry (NWSWM) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu has sown the fruit of the reconciliation process and that it is “our” hope that, even though it has not been fulfilled in his time, “we” will be able to see his wish fulfilled someday. NWSWM has prayed that God grant solace and comfort to all dear ones. 
TSUD: Tangkhul Students ‘ Union, Dimapur (TSUD) in a condolence message said “we” have lost a leader, a father, and a true comrade of the Naga’s and his life struggle and the sacrifices made for the cause of the Naga’s will be forever enshrined in “our” hearts. TSUD also expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and that the departed soul rest in peace.
KU: Konyak Union (KU) in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as not only as a nationalist leader but a pioneer of education far beyond the border and also a true missionary in winning many souls to Christ. KU has extended its utmost honour and appreciation for the time that late Swu had sacrifice for the Naga cause. It has also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. 
NSSU: Northern Sumi Students’ Union (NSSU) in a condolence message said demise of late Isak Chishi Swu has created a void among the Sumis in particular and Nagas in general and prayed that almighty God would continue to strengthen the bereaved family and that the departed soul to rest in peace.  
NSH: Northern Sumi Hoho (NSH) in a condolence message said it shares the grief and pain along with the bereaved family of late Isak Chishi Swu and that the sacrifice made by him for the cause of the Naga nation would live on. NSH also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
TNL: Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) on behalf of the entire Tangkhul community has paid deepest act of homage and respect to late isak Chishi Swu who gave up his decent education to embark on a journey of pains and struggles, hope and despair for the last 60 years to secure an honourable future for the Nagas. TNL stated that generations may come and go but late Isak shall be fondly remembered as a true Naga leader who had sacrificed his life for the good cause of the Naga People. TNL has prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace in God’s arms.
RHD: Rengma Hoho Dimapur (RHD) in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as man of peace, a leader committed to unity of Nagas. RHD said in his death, Nagas have not only lost “our” conscience keeper but a dedicated and committed leader who epitomised sacrifice and selfless service not for himself or family but for the Naga nation. The Hoho stated that in his death may it spur the NSCN/GPRN further to fulfil his legacy.
CSCFM: Concerned Senior Citizens Forum of Mokokchung (CSCFM) in a condolence message hoped that the departure of late Isak Chishi Swu from this world would bring a fulfilment of qualification of a true Naga patriot from his lifelong un-wavered and dedicated service rendered for the cause of the Naga movement for freedom based on clear Naga National political principle; the need for Naga national unity through reconciliation and forgiveness for the cause of Naga nation and early accomplishment of Framework Agreement signed between the government of India and NSCN (IM) which started under his Chairmanship towards attaining political aspiration of the Nagas. CSCFM said its pay homage to the departed leader and pray that his soul rest in peace.
TNSA: Tangshang Naga (Pangmi Naga) Students’ Association (TNSA) in a condolence message has described late Isak Chishi Swu as truly a legendary God fearing leader in Naga national political history. TNSA said it share heartfelt sorrows to all the mourners especially with bereaved family members and pray that the departed leader rest in peace.
NWA: Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) in a condolence message said Nagas have lost a great leader who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of the Nagas’ Independence. NWA said it prays for comfort and peace to the bereaved family and the departed soul to rest in peace.
NPF 36 A/C Satakha youth wing: NPF 36 A/C Satakha, youth wing in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi sacrifices and contributions for the cause of Nagas at various levels and capacities from his early days are immeasurable and would be cherished for generation to come. WSBAK: Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) in a condolence message said Late Isak Chishi Swu was a God fearing leader and a man of prayer, a fatherly figure who had demonstrated a true patriotism by sacrificing his entire life for his people. WSBAK stated that his death was an irreplaceable loss to the Nagas in general and the Sumi in particular and its conveyed deepest condolence to the family members. 
BJP Dimapur district: BJP Dimapur district and all the party worker of BJP have conveyed deepest condolence to Late Isak Chishi Swu’s family members and his supporters at this difficult time.
NPF minority wing: NPF Minority Wing has mourned the demise of late Isak Chishi Swu, the key person on historical framework agreement on August 3, 2015 and extended deepest condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
KIN: Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) in a condolence message said “lord give and so had taken back what is His” and prayed that God will comfort the bereaved family in particular and the Naga nation in general in these hours of bereavement. 
KSSU: Kohima Sumi Students’ Union (KSSU) in a condolence message described late Isak Chishi Swu as a visionary man, a patriot who sacrificed his whole life for “our” better today and tomorrow. CMA: Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu was one of the tallest potential Naga leaders who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of Naga freedom struggle and his sacrificial deeds would always stand as a gate way for the Naga sovereignty. TBAN: Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association, Nagaland (TBAN) in a condolence message stated that “we” have lost a figure who whole-heartedly had dedicated his life to prove that a nation’s destiny was in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. TBAN expressed condolence to Eustar Chishi Swu and the children.
ASKK Kohima: Aphuyemi Sümi Küqhakulu, Kohima (Pughoboto Area Public Organization, Kohima) in a condolence message said “we” have lost a true great son of the soil who dedicated his entire life for the rights of his people. ASKK stated that his brilliant leadership and the legacy that he left behind would continue to remain a source of inspiration and encouragement to the generation to come. ASKK also conveyed deepest condolence to the bereaved family and pray that the departed rest in peace.
NBS: Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS) has mourned the death of late Isak Chishi Swu and has also expressed heartfelt condolences and prayed to God to grant solace to the bereaved family members at this hour of grief.
HSS: Hindu Seva Samati (HSS) in a condolence message stated that in the death of late Isak Chishi Swu, Nagaland has lost a great leader, philosopher, preacher of peace and nothing could replace his contribution for the entire citizens of Nagaland. HSS further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that almighty god to keep his soul in peace. 
Rev.Y.Chingang Konyak: Rev.Y.Chingang Konyak, Mon  in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu listened but walked upright as he was a man of his own principles and fought in different aspects, for goodness but what we have today is his legacy of a true humble patriot who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of the Nagas. He further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
Justice Hotoi Khetoho Sema: Justice Hotoi Khetoho Sema in a condolence message said late Isak Chishi Swu had sacrificed his life for a cause and termed his demise as the darkest day for the Nagas in general and for the Sumis in particular. H K, Sema said “when we bid goodbye to the departed soul we must also preserve his vision and mission to convert the land of Nagas into a land of milk and honey”. In his death, Sema said “I have lost an elderly respectable friend and the Nagas have lost a bold God fearing leader”.
