Kohima Lotha Baptist Church (KLBC) inaugurated its new sector church on Friday at the Don Bosco School area, which has now been officially renamed as Kruoliezou Sector Church.
According to the KLBC Board of Deacons, the decision to rename the sector was taken after extensive research and deliberation, with the name “Kruoliezou” chosen to reflect the heritage and identity of the locality.
Senior pastor Rev. Benry, speaking at the inaugural programme, recounted the history of the sector’s formation. He said the land for the new church was acquired during the early development of the then DBS Sector, and acknowledged the contributions of several individuals involved in the planning and construction process.
The event was followed by a special service of thanksgiving, which brought together members of the new Kruoliezou Sector and the larger KLBC congregation for a time of prayer and worship.
KLBC said that the inauguration marks a significant milestone in the spiritual growth of the Kruoliezou Sector and reaffirms the church’s ongoing mission to nurture faith, community, and service.
The church building, now completed, was designed by the late architect Renbenthung N. Shitio. KLBC informed that the structure stands as a testament to the community’s faith and commitment, and also to the enduring vision of the architect.
