Deputy Commissioner (DC) & District Election Officer (DEO) Dimapur has informed all concerned that a facilitation centre for the purpose of casting postal ballot will be opened at Dimapur Government College, near D.C. Court junction on February 23 from 10 a.m onwards for personal requisitioned for polling duty.
Further, the DC clarified that this will be the last of such facilitation centre with regard to the aforementioned personnel meant for cast of their postal ballot.
In this regard all political parties/contesting candidates have been requested to send their agent so as to ensure a free, fair and transparent casting of postal ballot.
In an office order, the DC&DEO has also informed all police personnel under Dimapur district, polling duty personnel registered as voters in other districts and all government employees under Dimapur district requisitioned for election duty as sector officer, flying squad team members, static surveillance team members, video surveillance team members, expenditure monitoring team members, drivers etc and all government employees detailed for election duty apart from polling personnel who have applied form 12 for issue of postal ballot to be physically present along with valid identity proof on February 24 at the postal ballot facilitation centre, conference hall of taxes commissioner ‘s office Dimapur between 10 a.m to 3 p.m for receive and casting their postal ballot.
All postal ballot for the aforementioned employees will be issued only at the designated location mentioned above and not through any other means and this will be the last of such facilitation centre for the aforementioned personnel for cast of their postal ballot.
On inspection of shadow register, the DC & DEO, Dimapur, Sushil Kumar (IAS) through a press release has informed all intending candidates and their agents that the 3rd inspection of the Shadow Register shall be done by Expenditure Observers (for all 5 ACs) at Conference Room, Police Mess, Chumukedima on February 24, 11:00 a.m onwards. A DIPR report said that all the intending candidates have been requested to send their agents to the venue without fail.
LONGLENG: Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DC & DEO) Longleng has directed all the village council chairmen and ward president or chairman under 49 A/C and 50 A/C to see the basic necessity (assured minimum facility) such as ramp facility for people with disability, water supply provision, electrification with plug point, toilet facility and approach road leading to the polling station and maintained properly in their respective polling stations of their villages, colony or wards for smooth conduct of election in the district.
The DC&DEO has directed all concerned sector magistrates to verify and give final report on the matter with immediate effect and to abstain from use of requisition polling station for public meeting, programme and events till the election is over.

ZUNHEBOTO: Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC&DEO) Zunheboto has informed electors enrolled within Zunheboto district who had missed the casting of postal ballot during the allotted time listed polling personnel, staff of DC, RO etc, and detailed for other election duties on February 23 to 25, 9 a.m to 3 p.m at DC office Zunheboto and for drivers, handyman and helper of requisitioned vehicles at local ground Zunheboto.
PEREN: DC & DEO Peren has notified that the booth level officers (BLOs) are government servants and any act to obstruct them as they carry out their duties, specially while distributing photo voters slip in their respective areas, in any form, will be dealt strictly as per provisions of the law.
The DC&DEO through DIPR stated that VCCs have been requested to cooperate with the district administration and ensure that this time bound activity of distributing photo voters’ slips is not hindered.
