Telangana State Foundation Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan

The 11th Telangana State Foundation Day was celebrated at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on June 2, 2025, under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.
According to PRO Raj Bhavan, Nagaland Governor, La Ganesan, attended the event and spoke about unity, development, and inter-state harmony.
He praised Telangana for its progress and cultural richness, calling it a symbol of modern India’s achievements. He highlighted India’s unity in diversity and the strength of collective resolve, referring to the recent Operation Sindoor. He commended leaders from different political backgrounds for coming together in support of national interests.
The Governor also emphasized Telangana’s welfare programs, such as the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, which provides Rs. 3 lakhs to women for housing, and the Mahalakshmi Scheme, which offers financial aid, free bus travel, and subsidized LPG to women. Other initiatives like Indiramma Indlu, Praja Palana, and Gruha Jyothi, which provides free electricity to households, were also acknowledged. He noted Hyderabad’s emergence as India’s IT and AI hub and urged the Telangana community in Nagaland to act as cultural ambassadors, sharing knowledge and mentoring youth.
The event included a welcome address by Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor, Thavaseelan K, a speech on Telangana by Sankar Surada, president of the Nagaland Telugu Samaj, and a devotional song by B. Jay Shankar. The program ended with a vote of thanks by under secretary to the Governor, Kevingozo Visa.
