AR nab NSCN (R) armed cadre

Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) based on specific information launched an operation with police representative in general area Naharbari Dimapur on February 12. AR Dimapur battalion said that one individual was apprehended with arms and ammunition during the operation. The apprehended was identified as an active NSCN(R) cadre, Isaka Awomi (41) son of Tovishe Awomi, resident of Naharbari village, Dimapur. Two AK-56 Rifles with magazines, two .22 mm pistol with magazines and 50 and four live AK-56 and .22 rounds respectively, 25 NNC extortion slips, 28 of FGN, 29 of NSCN (R) and two extortion collection pads were also recovered. In this connection, the apprehended along with the recoveries has been handed over to East police station Dimapur.
