DoSE responds to NSF demands

Department of School Education (DoSE) has issued a clarification with regard to the demand put forth by the Naga Students’ Federation. In a press note, director of School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe said the text books had already reached Dimapur. However, since department vehicles were requisitioned for poll duty, the text books could not be distributed, he said.
He stated that the books will be dispatched immediately after the elections.
As for the school uniforms, the director explained that this project was implemented by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) program and was a centrally sponsored scheme; thus the department was still waiting for this project’s funds to be released by the MHRD, government of India.
