Party a victim of misinformation campaign: BJP

BJP said it was at the receiving end of a “misinformation” campaign spread by some “political, religious and so-called secular leaders”. A press release issued by State BJP’s media cell on Wednesday, however, said that the sad part was that these leaders were equally in the dark about the issues over which they were attacking BJP with all passion and likened it to the blind leading the blind.
Regretting that BJP candidates in different parts of the State were being targeted as anti-Christians, the party added that it had been maintaining a dignified silence not to embarrass the “ignorance of many of our people who are holding high and sanctimonious offices”.  It, however, said that it was compelled to highlight a few truths to enlighten the general populace who were being misled by few so-called enlightened leaders. While acknowledging the concern and apprehension of various organisations in the State about the threat perception of minorities, BJP clarified that all its candidates were Christians and that they remained committed to protect and defend their faith at all costs.
