Couples for Christ (CFC) Nagaland held the 1st campus base youth camp in Nagaland for the students of Don Bosco College Kohima on February 23 -24 at Mt. Tabor Retreat House Kohima.
A press release by state coordinator-cum-chapter head CFC Nagaland, Mengukhrietuo Marcus informed that “youth camp” was the entry point to the CFC Youth for Christ (YFC), the young adults’ programme of the CFC is the youth camp, which officially brings teenagers and or young adults into an experience with Christ through YFC.
It stated that in order to fully appreciate the value of the youth camp and to make the most out of it, it must be seen not just as a two-day experience where the teenagers can have fun, but in the light of the overall objectives of the youth camp, the youth can be responsible and fruitful men and women of God.
Further, it informed that the youth camp was a venue for the young to form and build friendships with one another through sports and games as well as an opportunity for them to share their ideas and experiences, and entertain one another in a wholesome environment, where Christian values are talked about and are actively practiced.
Marcus further elaborated that the camp will stimulate the youths to develop their gifts and potentials for leadership and give them opportunities to serve as speakers, facilitators, sports and games coordinators and provide them to grow in other services that are essential to the life of the young.
