Poll security review meeting held in Longleng

Longleng election officials held their final security meeting on Sunday for the upcoming Assembly Elections. According to DPRO, Longleng, the meet was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC & DEO) of Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam.
The DC & DEO spoke on the restrictions and authority to enter polling booths, safe custody of EVMs/VVPATs, movement & return plan of polling parties, role of Presiding Officers and Sector Magistrates, use of authorized mobile phones and the secrecy of voting. The DC & DEO also urged the meeting to utilize the services of the DBs who were deployed to facilitate the maintenance of law & order.
Dr. Raghav Langer IAS & General Observer, spoke on the Joint Communication System with the Control Room at the DC & DEO office, compulsory contact numbers of Sector Magistrates & Sector Commanders and other team leaders, security arrangements for both inside and outside the polling booths, challenge votes, proxy votes, location of election booths and voters facilitation booths, sanitization of a 100 meter area around polling booths and the role of micro observers.
Police Observer, Jalindar D. Supekar (IPS) and the Longleng Superintendent of Police briefed the meeting about the overall security arrangements in the district. They also urged the Sector Magistrates, other officials engaged on election duty and the security forces to work as a team and stay connected for timely intervention to normalize any crisis and situation.
The meeting was attended by the DC & DEO, General Observers, Police Observers, SP, Returning Officer of 49 & 50 A/C, Sector Magistrates and Sector Commanders besides officers from Police and Security Force.
