24×7 emergency control room set up

 In order to monitor damages of roads, both State & National Highways all over Nagaland, an emergency Control Room has been set up at the office of the Engineer-in- Chief, PWD which will be available 24×7. 

Informing this in a press note, Home Commissioner, R. Ramakrishnan said the control room will be manned by the officers of the department round the clock. Individual/organization may report on road damages/status of the roads directly to the control room at- 9436016005 (M), Dy.CE- 9436832299, asst. engineer 0370-2222827 or mail to encnpvvd@gmail.com

Ramakrishnan has also requested Food and Civil Supplies department to be ready with sufficient stock or essential commodities for supply to far-flung districts.

Meanwhile, Home Commissioner has also appraised Union Home Secretary and Defence ministry about the crisis situation.  He informed that the state Capital, Kohima along with almost all districts particularly Phek, Kiphire and Tuensang have been cut off for two days due to numerous landslides. 

In this regard, Home Commissioner has sought immediate assistance from the Central government and its various agencies including the paramilitary and military forces, Indian Air Force and National Disaster Response Force to assist the state machineries. 

 

IRS Kohima activated: For the management of various disasters in Kohima district, the deputy commissioner (DC) and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) chairman Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, has activated the Incident Response System (IRS) Kohima.

According to an official bulletin, IRS was activated as per the power conferred upon the DDMA Kohima in the Disaster Management Act 2005 Section 26 and Section 30. 

In this regard, the DC has directed DDMA members and departments to gather all resources of the concerned department in terms of man-power, machineries, tools and emergency essential kits and commodities.
